Redemption.
1.  the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil.
2.  the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt.

We are the redeemed. God is the Redeemer.  We have been saved. God has regained possession.

There is such beauty in this. God, knowing that He Himself demands that the wages of sin be death. Seeing His loved ones fall away from Him, and now owe that wage. God, choosing to pay the wage Himself.

Because He wanted us back.

There is no other reason for such rich grace. No other reason to leave His throne to enter a world covered in darkness. To walk where we walk, experience the feel of broken humanity. To walk a road that was ours to walk. Bear a cross that was ours to bear. Die a death that was ours to die. No other reason.

He just wanted us back.

Not just drops of blood. Not just a sprinkling of grace. A river of both, poured out. Richly given. Lavished. As though He emptied heaven.

To get us back.

How then can I be anything other than fully His? How can I withhold one inch of my heart? How can I still try to be my own?

How can I not lay at His feet and whisper…

I’m back. Thank You Jesus.
